Day 49...

It's been awile but alot has happened this week as you can tell from the pictures, we now have a roof over our heads!! I know, some will say it looks just like our last house, not totally, a little. It didn't start out this way, there was a glitch with the roof trusses so we ended up with the little "eyeballs" I believe they call them over the garage and what will be the office. It probably helped so the glitch turned into something positive.
In between the garage and the office is our porch, I can't wait to put my wicker chairs out there and just enjoy the moment...

Day 38 & 39...

Just a quick blog, I'm running on low today and I need to get some rest. Been super busy at work doing our transitions to our other divisions. In case I haven't mentioned I am retiring a little earlier than I had anticipated, and not by my choice either, Friday, Sept. 15th to be exact!
Roof trusses started going up on Wed. Should have the roof decking on and be ready for shingles by next Wed.! Will have more pics and do better at blogging over the weekend...

Can't wait to start my gardens...already have plans in my head, the trick to that will be getting it from my head to the yard and still be intact! Creative I am not, Carrie and Steve have all that.

Day 35 - 37...

No pics today but stay tuned, should have some by the end of the week, they will be starting to set the roof trusses tomorrow!!

Day 35 it rained off and on all day, not much happened except Steve had to put brakes in the Van, guess it was a good day for that.

Day 36, very productive day!
Steve and Pad, the electrician, set the electric panel so we can get an inspection done and proceed with the electric before frost restrictions start on Oct. 1st, yes, Oct. 1st! Doesn't FROST sound kind of cold!!!!
Steve and Ron figured out where to run the heat ducts and set the furnace.
Dean the framer, who's EXCELLENT by the way, came and checked out all the trusses so they can start setting them tomorrow.
Apart from the house, I finished a knitting project Carrie gave me last Christmas, I'll have to explain sometime about my projects.

Day 37, Steve went out to make sure his supports are ready to pour his structural slab. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the phone company setting up our service, unfortunatley our number will not stay the same as we've had for the past 27 years, different phone company. We will have DSL service though, that's a plus!!!

Day 29 - 34...

Steve worked on his project on Monday, Day 29 and has it ready. He was able to obtain a "VAULT" door and decided it would be fun to put it in the new house. We incorporated that into the house and he is now going to pour a structural slab as the ceiling for his "vault". Not sure what we'll use it for, it's quite large and I don't think I have enough jewels to fill it up, I'm sure we'll find something.
Other than that it's been a quiet week, waiting for the framers to come back and put up the roof tursses and the roof decking.
Stay tuned...
